Skiing in the Dolomites

One Saturday in February, Dal and I decided that we needed to go skiing before the winter ended. We have an outdoor recreation shop on the army post that we were able to rent skis from, and they also do ski trips on the weekends so we signed up for one.

We rode up on the bus to the ski village of San Martino. When we got there, we bought our lift tickets, popped on our skis, and skied the day away! It was so fun, and absolutely beautiful up there. The Dolomites are part of the Southern Limestone Alps and are located in north eastern Italy. They are gorgeous, and unfortunately my pictures from my point-and-shoot camera don't do them justice. The snow was ok. It was pretty much all manmade, so it was really icy at first, but as the day went on, it got better. Besides, neither Dallin and I are good enough at skiing to really appreciate good snow.

At the top! About to ski down.

A fun day in an Italian winter wonderland!
