Quick Week/Summer Schedule

3/26/09- illustration of how I feel

This week has flown. It is already Thursday and I feel like I just stepped off the plane in Newark. Pretty standard West Point week though. When I got back there was this vague email from my military science teacher asking me to call him about a test i took before spring break. Now for those of you unfamiliar with West Point we have this "Honor Code" here where if someone suspects you of cheating they will send you an email similar to the one, but upon further inspection I noticed that he said it wasn't about honor but something else. Phew. But then the thought crossed my mind, did I fail the test miserably? So Monday morning I walked into class apprehensively and discovered that I had actually just forgot to put my name on the test, I got a 99% on the test (missed 2 points for forgeting to differenciate my two support by fire positions on the graphic.) That was a relief. Then I got back a test in my systems engineering class and i got a 99.5%! Oh my life, it is so exciting sometimes...I don't know how I contain it all so well.

Looking ahead to the next few months I have got some sweet stuff coming up...
- April 3-5 Allison will be out in New York with me for the weekend
- May 15-20 I will be home to do some recruiting and spend some time with family
- May 21- 28 I will be out in Provo with Allison for Memorial Day weekend
- May 28- June 17- Cadet Leadership Development Training @ West Point, NY (3 weeks of field training, no showers, and limited sleep)
But, drumroll please......the thing that I am looking forward to most.......
June 17th- August 8th- HOME. I have an internship with Asia Alternatives LLP for July but besides that I am going to spend time with Allison!, spend time with family, get back into shape, and get tan. I can't wait for that. I haven't been home for that long of a period since June 2004. This summer has been an answer to many of mine and Allison's prayers and we are stoked to have received this huge blessing from the Lord.

On a not-so-sweet note this weekend is going to be filled with writing a paper! Yay. Oh and I forgot to mention that sweet room inspection Saturday morning, man life is good....

Best Week of my Life!

Provo, 3.20.09
If you didn't gather that from my previous post I just wanted to reiterate how amazing last week was. It was perfect.

In other news it has been brought to my attention that some people think that I am "mushy" on this blog thing, well I am kind of taking the same approach to this blog as I did with my mission emails in that I am literally just typing everything that comes to my mind and typing how I feel right now unfliltered. This is my journal, and it is the only one that I actively keep unfortunately so I like to be really open so it is real and honest.
Today's travels went nearly seemless, nearly because a 1 hour delay in SLC almost lead me to miss my bus and spend $200 on a cab ride but thankfully I made it in time, albeit a little sweaty and stessed from sprinting from the gate to the bus parking lot. I am pretty exhausted, I just wanted to say once again that my week in Utah was incredible, thank you to the Rosdahl family for making it possible! You are all the best, and I owe you so much.

The upcoming week looks to be a good one with an accounting test tuesday to get me back into the groove. Allison is coming out to New York next weekend (April 3rd) woot woot! Bed time. Goodnight.

Spring Break

Taken while blogging in BYU library. 3/19/09

Fun with photobooth. 3/15/09
So,
Currently sitting in Allison's film class next to her. Pretty sweet. Right now we are watching some crazy German documentary. The week has been nothing short of perfect. I flew in last Friday and have had a blast since. We got back yesterday from Grandma Peg's house. We had a great time playing dominoes with Gma and Gpa and Uncle Brad and Aunt Leila. It was sweet. It was so much fun to see them and Grandma is such an awesome host, we ate really well and were taken care of awesomely. The weather has been ridiculous, I have actually gotten a little tan this week which is an unexpected bonus that I didn't expect coming to Utah for Spring Break but I am stoked nonetheless.
Hmmm, well yesterday we stopped by SLC for a blanketless picnic at this sweet building downtown, not really sure what building it was. It has been so incredible to be with Allison this week and spend solid time together. She is so amazing.
We have randomly talked about the past 8 months that we have been dating and how our relationship has evolved and grown. We laughed about the first time I held her hand, the first time I called her, and the first time we used the "L" word. I can't believe how lucky we are to have each other and how perfect we are together. I definitly am not looking forward to Sunday morning and going back to New York but I know that there is where I belong right now. Break has been amazing though, I don't want it to end. I want to be at Allison's side always. She has just one more class today and it is supposed to be in the 70s today and tomorrow so the weekend should be epic like the past week has been.
We have relocated now to the library, her last class ended and now she is getting ready for a test in her info systems class. Ahhhh I hate the thought that in just a few more days I will be 2,196 miles away but right now I am 7 feet away from her. Never in my life have I wanted to stop time like I do when I am with her. All of those cheesy lines that you always hear that say something to the extent that "make this night last forever" or whatever have taken on a whole new level of meaning since being with Allison. I love her so much. Well, she is about ready to get to class and I think that she will need her computer. Thank you Dad and Mom for helping me get out to Utah this week! Thank you Uncle Jon and Aunt Bonnie for letting me stay with you guys this week! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for having us over for a night this week. Life is good. We will post pictures to facebook next week...and Allison will be in New York on April 3rd!

kick in the pants

It has been a few weeks since I last updated this. It is now monday morning and i have a test that i need to finish studying for so this will be short.

I woke up last Thursday with a fever, body aches, and a horrible cough. I went to the doctor and three hours later emerged with a goody bag of codeine, antibiotics and other assorted drugs. I then proceeded to sleep from Thursday at 9am till Friday 4 pm! I was diagnosed with bronchitis and it has been a kick in the pants. I am doing better now, although the antibiotics are now really kicking in and leaving me a little sore and stuff. I am just thankful that I got sick when I did, seeing as this weekend i will be traveling out to Utah to be with Allison and I definitly do not want to be sick with her or while I am traveling. So despite the lame weekend of recovering from being sick life is good. Class this semester is flying by, we are already over half-way done with the semester! I am so excited for Spring Break. Allison and I have only had weekends together for the past few months so 8 days will be a welcome change in our relationship. I have rented a car from Avis, and between her school schedule we will have a rad time, I am pumped. But like I said, I have a test in a few hours that I need to finish studying for. Spring Break, 4 days!
